Acrylic Monomer

Acrylic monomers are unsaturated compounds built around the reactive vinyl group of acrylic or methacrylic acid, including their esters, amides and nitriles. Acrylic monomers underpin coatings, adhesives, superabsorbent materials and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Because they polymerise spontaneously on exposure to heat or light, they are normally supplied with inhibitors.
