Agarose

Agarose is a neutral linear polysaccharide isolated from the agar of red seaweed, composed of alternating galactose and anhydrogalactose units. On cooling it forms a thermoreversible gel with large pores, making it the standard matrix for separating nucleic acids by electrophoresis. Molychem manufactures agarose for electrophoresis in low, medium and high gel strengths, plus DNA-grade low-melting agarose.
